Religion and the Knowledge of God

Why what the Churches and Denominations call ‘Religion’ usually isn't

Millions, if not billions, of people are convinced that they are religious if they believe in God in any form whatsoever. Furthermore, they usually assume that religion is primarily a matter of ‘belief’ or ‘feeling’, i.e. something that ultimately defies all knowledge and verification. They see it as an open field where everyone is free to believe whatever they want. Or they follow the customary and majority belief, in the belief that ‘God will be satisfied with that; because the others believe the same way’. Even quite obvious inconsistencies and contradictions do not bother most of them. Only when fanatical followers of a religion commit massacres or other atrocities do people begin to reflect briefly on the benefits and harms of different religious practices, but this reflection rarely leads to a complete clarification of this important topic.

This article therefore seeks to clarify what religion actually is and to show that, through increasing knowledge, we humans should help to transform religion from a rigid, dogmatic and habitual creed into an extremely vibrant process that corresponds to the truth and can accompany us throughout our lives, building and supporting us. And in several further articles, the serious misinterpretations that surround Jesus of Nazareth in particular will be discussed and corrected, as will those that deal with faith, salvation and the forgiveness of sins. You are cordially invited to exciting and sometimes explosive information about the important human topic of ‘religion’.

What is religion?

If we go back to the Latin root verb religio, it means ‘to bind back, up, or on’. In our context, it refers to the restoration of a (lost) connection to God. This brings us straight to the core question: why did the connection break down in the first place?

Let us look for the reason in ourselves, because the idea that an all-wise, kind and loving God would abandon us for no reason would contradict these qualities that we associate with God. In the article about the free will of man, I have also described in detail how only the abuse of free will over long periods of time must separate us from God. In other words, we have turned away from the order of creation and thus from God, which can easily be seen, because to this day we are increasingly destroying our beautiful planet, waging countless wars and spreading suffering upon suffering. And no, it's not just the others who do that; we all have some part in the problems of this world, otherwise we would no longer be here! For anyone who seriously and honestly seeks God, there can be no doubt that for thousands of years we have been opposing the constructive will of God in a truly hostile manner.

From this, we can easily conclude that the restoration of a connection to God is only then thinkable if we seriously want to recognise and learn what God's will really is, in order to follow it again in the future and obey it. But how do we find a way to the real will of the Creator?

Bending the truth

Throughout human history, one phenomenon has repeatedly emerged in spiritual terms: from time to time, great teachers of humanity with truly special, truthful teachings emerge in some cultures, so that truth, wisdom, reason and peace can take root in their peoples again. For example, Krishna and Buddha worked in India, Lao-Tse in China and Zarathustra in Persia. They all brought valuable teachings, the observance of which would have made possible a real religiousness, that is, a reconnection to God.

But soon, self-centred, unwise people, namely clerics or similar ‘servants of God’, took possession of these valuable teachings again and interpreted them in a way that clouded them and thus obscured the clear path shown again. Even then, it was the same as it is today: the longing for light of many people, combined with the urge for enlightenment, literally created a market, which was exploited by many unscrupulous characters who were not only able to make a living from it, but also to secure great power by pretending to be indispensable mediators or even deputies of God on earth! The path to God should therefore be more or less ‘solemnising’ and exclusive to his institution. An unprecedented presumption - but it worked perfectly, as we can see in countless places to this day.

When the aforementioned pioneers and other prophets did not succeed with their efforts, a stronger one had to come, the Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth! The most widespread religions of our culture still refer to him today. His teachings showed the will of God in simple images and parables, and thus the direct way back to the Creator! Comprehensive and complete information about the meaning and purpose of his mission can be found in the article ‘The Redeemer’.

Religion - Gotterkenntnis - Religionsirrtümer - Kreuzigung
One of the most disastrous spiritual concepts:
the alleged salvation of Christians through the death of Jesus on the cross.

But the same fate befell him and his teachings! Even during his lifetime, he became so troublesome and threatening to the clergy of his time with his clear and pure teachings that they brought him to the cross with boundless hatred. And subsequent generations of clergy then had the audacity to present this murder of an Innocent in such a way that God the Father would have demanded the death of his son on the cross as a redemption sacrifice in order to free humanity from its sins. Of course, they knew that most people were interested in the easiest and most comfortable way to get to heaven, and they accommodated this weakness with their false teaching. That this does not correspond to reality, however, I have explained in detail in the article about Good Friday.

So today many people are faced with the question: ‘What does God really want?’ and the vast majority of them accept the interpretations of their religious communities without complaint, although, on closer inspection, these contain numerous contradictions and illogical passages.

A new path to the will of God

To solve this question, we need an objective, self-evident and comprehensible standard, beyond all human interpretations. The key to this standard is contained in the Grail Message - In the Light of Truth, which appeared in the 20th century and on which all the expanded, generally unknown knowledge on this website is based. It states, and with just a little observation we can easily understand it, that God's activity in Creation is exclusively in His Laws, the five great laws of Creation. These laws have absolutely nothing to do with human legislation; they are self-acting forces on which every process in the whole of Creation is based, without exception.

This provides us with a simple and direct path to the will of God, which is expressed in these laws, as well as the task associated with it for us: if we get to know, understand and, above all, follow the laws of creation, we have the path that leads to the true religion, that is, to the knowledge of God. If, however, we refuse to get to know these five central laws of God, then a ‘religio’, that is, a renewed connection to the Creator, remains excluded by the very nature of things - with devastating consequences in the medium and long term!

This fact now also provides a simple but clear yardstick for testing which church or denomination really follows the will of God! If their representatives can answer the question about the laws of creation clearly, but above all, if they themselves honestly follow the requirements that the laws of God place on us humans, then two conditions have already been met! If, in addition, the teaching can be easily understood, logically comprehended, simply and clearly, and does not lead into mystical obscurities or darkness, then we can assume that the teaching is correctly, truthfully and according to the Creator's will. If, however, they cannot answer this question, then they do not know the Will of God and logically cannot show their fellow human beings the way to God, even if they claim the opposite a thousand times over! No real religion in the original sense of the word can be found there. I think it is very easy to test a religion according to these criteria and it will unfortunately bring a very sobering result.

The lecture ‘The Language of the Lord’ from the already mentioned "Grail Message" contains very valuable statements about the relationship between man and his religion and is therefore reproduced here in full:

'It is the sacred duty of the human spirit to investigate why it is living on earth, or in general in this Creation, in which it is suspended as if by a thousand threads. No man considers himself so insignificant as to imagine that his existence is without purpose, unless he makes it purposeless. In any case he deems himself too important. And yet there are only a few men on earth capable of laboriously detaching themselves from their spiritual indolence, so far as seriously to concern themselves with the investigation of their task on earth.

Again it is solely indolence of the spirit that makes them willing to accept the firmly-established doctrines of others. And it is indolence that lies in the reassurance that comes from thinking that it is great to adhere to the faith of their parents, without submitting its underlying principles to keen, careful and independent examination.

In all these matters men are now eagerly supported by calculating and selfish organisations, which believe that the best way to extend and safeguard their influence, and thus to increase their power, is by adding to the number of their adherents.

They are far from the recognition of God; for otherwise they would not bind the human spirit with the fetters of a firmly-established doctrine, but would have to educate it for the personal responsibility ordained by God, which fundamentally stipulates full freedom of spiritual decision! Only a spirit free in this respect can come to the true recognition of God that matures within him to the complete conviction which is essential for anyone who wishes to be uplifted to Luminous Heights; for only free, sincere conviction can help him to achieve this. –

But what have you done, you men! How have you suppressed this highest Grace of God and wantonly prevented it from developing, and from helping all earthmen to open up that path which safely leads them to peace, to joy, and to the highest bliss!

Consider this: that also in making a choice, in agreement or in obedience, which as a result of spiritual indolence may be done only from habit or general custom, a personal decision is involved, laying upon the individual who makes it personal responsibilities according to the Laws of Creation!

Those who influence a human spirit to do this naturally bear a personal responsibility, which is inevitable and irrevocable. No thought or action, however trivial, can be erased from Creation without similar consequences. In the web of Creation the threads both for the individual and for the masses are accurately spun, awaiting redemptions, which in turn must eventually be received by the originators or producers, either as suffering or as joy, according to how they once issued from them; only now they have grown and are thus strengthened.

You are caught in the web of your own volitions, of your actions, and are not released from it until the threads can fall away from you in the redemption.

Among all creatures in Creation the human spirit is the only one to have free will, which until today he could not explain and did not understand, because within the narrow bounds of his intellectual pondering he found no essential facts to prove it.

His free will lies solely in the decision, of which he may make many every hour. In the independent weaving of the Laws of Creation, however, he is unswervingly subject to the consequences of every one of his personal decisions! Therein lies his responsibility, which is inseparably connected with the gift of free will to make decisions, which is peculiar to and an absolute part of the human spirit.

Otherwise what would become of Divine Justice, which is firmly anchored in Creation as support, balance and maintenance of all the working therein?

In Its effects, however, It does not always take account of the short span of only one earth-life for a human spirit; but here there are entirely different conditions, as readers of my Message know.

You have often brought harm upon yourselves, and sometimes force it upon your children, through many superficial decisions. Even though you yourselves have proved too indolent still to summon up the strength to decide for yourselves in your deepest intuitive perception whether, regardless of all you have learnt, each word to which you decided to adhere can hold Truth, at least you should not seek to force the consequences of your indolence also upon your children, whom you thus plunge into misfortune.

Thus what in one case is caused by spiritual indolence, in others, is brought about by the calculating intellect.

Through both these enemies of spiritual freedom in decision mankind is now bound, except for a few who still try to summon up the courage to burst this bond within them in order to become real human beings themselves, as follows from obedience to the Divine Laws.

The Divine Laws are true friends in everything, they are helpful blessings from the Will of God, Who thus opens the paths to salvation for everyone who strives towards it.

There is not a single other road to this than the one clearly shown by the Laws of God in Creation! The whole of Creation is theLanguage of God, which you should earnestly strive to read, and which is by no means as difficult as you may think.

You belong to this Creation as a part of it, and therefore you must swing with it, work in it, and mature in learning from it; and thus through gaining in understanding you must rise ever higher, from one step to the next, drawing along through the radiation in order to ennoble everything that comes in contact with you on your way.

There will then spontaneously develop around you one beautiful miracle after another, which through reciprocal action will raise you ever higher.

Learn to recognise your path in Creation, and you will also know the purpose of your existence. Then you will be filled with grateful rejoicing, and the greatest happiness a human spirit is able to bear, which lies solely in the recognition of God!

The supreme bliss of the true recognition of God, however, can never grow out of an acquired blind faith, much less come to flower; but convinced knowledge, knowing conviction, alone gives to the spirit what is necessary for this.

You earthmen are in this Creation to find supreme happiness! In the Living Language which God speaks to you! And to understand this Language, to learn it, and to sense inwardly the Will of God in it, that is your goal during your journey through Creation. In Creation itself, to which you belong, lies the explanation of the purpose of your existence, and at the same time also the recognition of your goal! In no other way can you find either.

This demands of you that you live Creation. But you are only able to live or experience it when you really know it.

With my Message I now open the Book of Creation for you! The Message clearly shows you the Language of God in Creation, which you must learn to understand so that you can make it completely your own.

Just imagine a child on earth who cannot understand his father or mother because he has never learned the language they speak to him. Indeed, what is to become of such a child?

He does not even know what is expected of him, and will thus fall into one difficulty after the other, draw upon himself one sorrow after another, and probably end up utterly useless for any purpose or enjoyment on earth.

If he is to amount to anything, must not every child personally learn the language of his parents for himself? Nobody can do it for him!

Otherwise he would never adjust himself, nor would he ever be able to mature and work on earth, but he would remain a hindrance, a burden to others, and would finally have to be segregated to prevent him from causing harm.

Could you expect anything else then?

You have of course inescapably to fulfil such a duty of the child towards your God, Whose Language you must learn to understand as soon as you desire His help. God, however, speaks to you in His Creation. If you want to advance in it, you must first recognise this His Language. Should you neglect it, you will be cut off from those who know the Language and adjust themselves to it, because you would otherwise cause harm and obstruction, without necessarily wishing to do so!

You must therefore do it! Do not forget this, and see that it is done now, otherwise you will be helplessly abandoned to whatever threatens you.

My Message will be a faithful helper to you!'
